Hello and welcome to the Denture Clinic, my name is Justin Stewart and I am the owner of The Denture Clinic.

I want to just tell you a little bit about our practice here today. Perhaps the first thing to say is most dentists in the UK have more than interest in cosmetic dentistry. Well that certainly seems to be the area of dentistry that is growing the most at the moment and they will tend to focus on dental implants, veneers and bridges.

The big difference with our practice is our aim is to be the best denture construction practice in the UK and obviously that's a large claim and what we hope to be able to show you; partly through the information on the website and partly through this DVD is that we really are.

I'd like to tell you a little bit more about myself, I qualified as a dentist almost 16 years ago in the early 1990s and so pretty early on in my career I decided I really wanted to make a difference and to find out a better way of making dentures. That led me to look to courses, I did a lot of course in the UK initially but in order to step up and move on a level, I then went to course in the US mainly and also some around Europe, particularly in Switzerland.

What I found was there really was a better way of making dentures than is traditionally practiced in the UK. But it does involve spending more time with the patient and using some advanced techniques. You will find more information about those on the website.

At The Denture Clinic we tend to look at denture problems in four different areas; so first of all the denture fit, secondly the denture bite, thirdly the facial build up and fourthly the actual position of the teeth, so the amount of tooth that is showing and how natural the smile line looks.

In each of those areas we found patients had come to us had problems sometimes in 2 or 3 of those areas all at the same time. Clearly if you have problems, even in one of those areas, you're going to be dissatisfied with the dentures you've got.
